The school was started in November 2010 with the blessing of His-Holiness and other Rimpocheys and whole hearted support by our well-wisher with a total strength of 48 students.
The main aim behind opening of this school was the educational upliftment of educational standard of rural people of this region, as well as to preserve rich culture and religious heritage of Ladakh. Since than the school is growing effectively and smoothly and now the roll of the students in this school is 153 of which 74 boys and 79 girls. We have nursery to class 8th. These students are not only getting modern education but moral and spiritual educations are also imparted. Our medium of instruction is English.
The staff strength of this school comprises of Principal, 13 teaching staff and 8 non- teaching staff.
We have two buses to transport all the students from different areas of this block.

Education is the most important aspect of wholesome growth and learning for an individual today. It is the corner stone of a human as well as a society building .Our school takes on the challenging responsibility of imparting quality life skill based Education to the orphans, semi-orphans and destitute children of our region. I extend my good wishes to the Principal, Staff and the students for a very bright future and thank all volunteer members who've shouldered and helped us at every step to bolster Riglam School in every which way.

Education plays a key role in the overall development of the society. The role of education is definitely not limited to giving and grasping knowledge and theory. The true goal of education transcends much beyond just awarding certificate to the students. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “By Education I mean an all-round drawing out of the best in child and man-body, mind and spirit.” The ultimate goal of education is the discovery of the meaning of life and the fulfillment of life and all mankind as well as for oneself....
The school has its clear vision and mission objective. In order to accomplish our vision and mission, we take as much effort as possible. We believe that education is an effective medium of social transformation. We get encouragement, looking at bright and successful careers of our hundreds of students, who subsequently benefit the society. We feel proud that we are part of such an institute, which is shaping the future citizens.
