Lamdon Jamyang School was established in November 2010 with the blessings of His Holiness and other Rinpocheys, and the wholehearted support of our well-wishers. The school began its journey with just 48 students, with a vision of providing quality education to children in this rural and remote region of Ladakh.
The primary aim of establishing the school was to contribute to the educational development of the rural communities of the region, while also preserving and nurturing the rich language, culture and heritage of Ladakh. Since its inception, the school has continued to grow steadily, striving to provide a balanced education that prepares children for the future while keeping them connected to their roots.
Today, the school provides education from Nursery to Class 8. Along with modern education, we place importance on moral values, character development and cultural awareness. Our medium of instruction is English, while we continue to value and promote the language, traditions and cultural heritage of our region.
Our dedicated team comprises the Principal, 13 teaching staff and 8 non-teaching staff, who work together to create a safe, caring and supportive learning environment for every child.
To support accessibility and ensure convenient transportation for our students, the school operates two buses and one van, serving students from different areas of the district.
At Lamdon Jamyang School, we believe that education is not only about acquiring knowledge, but also about nurturing good human beings—confident, compassionate, responsible and rooted in their identity.

Dear students , parents ,Benefactors/Benefactress , fellow honorable board members and respected community members of Sham Valley,
I feel deeply honored and privileged to extend you all welcome on behalf of school Board of Governers to the website of school.
The main aim of Education is to bring out the best of the innate potential of each and every child and to turn each and every child of society into a balanced personality who are stable emotionally, socially adjusted, academically exceled , morally grounded with compassion ,love ,affection,so that the child becomes a useful human being for the society and lead a successful life. Our main aim for each child is three “H”s ie Bright Head , Skilled hand and Warm and compassionate hand . We hold steadfast to the belief that these three “H” are important for turning the child into a beneficial personality. If a student has a bright head and skilled hand but lacks compassionate mind can invent a destructive things like atom bomb thereby risking the lives of living things on this globe. We have children from different social back grounds like economically underprivileged children from poor families, Children of separated parents due to divorce, Children of parents who lost their father in war , Children from rich families . Children from the poor and destitute families face the problem of malnutrition due to poverty and they face academic problems as sometimes both of their parents are illiterates. Children of separated parents and orphans has emotional problems due these separation and death of parents and they have educate emotionally by inviting special educators. The children of rich parents face malnutrition due richness, by providing pocket money blindly. Children of these parents eat junk food and face the problem of malnutrition.
Our esteemed team of educators and staff members diligently endeavor to foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to excel academically, socially and emotionally. We are dedicated to instilling a culture grounded in kindness , respect and empathy , there by preparing our students to emerge as compassionate and responsible global citizen.
We invite nutritionist and doctors to make our students aware about the healthy and balanced food.We keep these children of underprivileged section of society in hostel and provide them with nutritional foods, hostel wardens and tutors in hostel, with the help from the kind benefactors and benefactress .
In order to make them a skilled hand we have to provide them with computer laboratory and smarts boards in order to provide technologically advanced teaching pedagogy for which we need financial supports from kind benefactors
One of the main problem the society of Ladakh now-a-days are facing is that of drug addiction due these maladjustment. We are providing awareness camp and trying to nip the evil in the bud..
